The Southeast Data Librarian Symposium (SEDLS) is returning online in 2025! The program will consist of workshops, short presentations, and networking opportunities October 8-10, 2025.
We are now accepting presentation proposals.
This year’s theme is “Save the Dat(a)”. This year has opened up quite a few emerging data trends, which, to varying degrees, have impacted library data work. How are we dealing with these trends? What are we doing to preserve data quality and access? How do we adapt our teaching and librarianship priorities to properly react to the times?
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Democratizing access to data
Finding data, as data rescue efforts may be changing how/where we seek
Responsible use of AI in libraries/research
Combating fake news in data visualizations and statistics
Protecting sensitive data
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in data services
